We have all been taught to say the magic words “Please” and “Thank You” from an early age. But in the fast-paced and busy world we live in, it can be easy to forget these two little words in our conversations with adults.
In this blog post, we will discuss why it is important to use the words “Please” and “Thank You”, even when we are busy, and how it can help to create positive relationships in the workplace.
What are please and thank you?
Please and thank you are polite expressions of appreciation, gratitude and politeness. They are often used in conversation between adults in order to show appreciation and understanding. By using these words, we demonstrate our respect for the person we are addressing and let them know that we understand the situation.
By saying ‘please’ when making a request, we are making it clear that we would appreciate the person’s help. Similarly, by saying ‘thank you’ when somebody does something for us, we are showing our appreciation and acknowledging their efforts.
