Finding common ground with someone you’ve never met before can be easier than you think.

In this blog post, we’ll explore six different ways you can quickly create a connection with the person you’ve just met and start a conversation on the right foot.

From discussing the current weather conditions to talking about your shared interests, there are plenty of ways to establish common ground.

1) Observe Their Body Language

Making small talk with someone you have never met before can be a daunting task, but a great way to get started is to pay attention to their body language. Not only will this give you an idea of what kind of person they are, it can also help you find common ground between the two of you.

When you first meet them, take note of how they stand or sit. Are they open and approachable, or closed off? Are their arms crossed? Do they maintain eye contact? All of these things can give you clues about their personality, and may even lead to topics that you both enjoy.
